Maybe the problem is with the PSN.. I have had the same problem on the evening of the 24th of Decembre, because Sony wanted to check over the PSN :(

But the reason could also be that your internet connection was just to weak to load the other profiles in your friendslist.

Anyway, the friendslist is saved on Sony servers, and because of that your friendslust won't be randomly erased from one day to another
